Slow Cooker Apple Cobbler

Here's a quick and easy dessert idea that won't leave you in the kitchen while entertaining.  As an added bonus, it will make your house smell AMAZING!  We served this at a dinner party with some of Michael's family recently and it was a big hit.  I loved having dessert already made, but still fresh and warm.  Here's how Mama makes it:

Slow Cooker Apple Cobbler

Ingredients:
makes 8 generous servings
- 1 quart apple pie filling (or 4 c. sliced apples, 1/4 c. sugar, 1/2 t. cinnamon)
- 2 c. Bisquick mix
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 1 t. cinnamon

Directions:

1.  Line slow cooker with liner or spray with cooking spray.   Pour pie filling into the slow cooker.  (if using fresh apples, mix with sugar and cinnamon, then place in slow cooker)

2.  In a medium bowl, mix Bisquick, sugar, and milk with a whisk until smooth.  Pour over the apples.  Sprinkle cinnamon on top.

3.  Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours until cobbler is set.  Serve alone or with ice cream (we used butter pecan and it was delicious!)

sorry, this was the only picture I remembered
to take of the finished cobbler...
I just can't keep people waiting for dessert!

  2. Sorry, this one is not a WW recipe. It would be pretty hard to guess point values since I used homemade apple pie filling, too. You can usually type in the generic food (so in this case, "apple cobbler") into the WW plan manager to get a general idea of points. If it's just a once in awhile treat, the exact point values probably don't matter as much - just look at the big picture of what you are eating and it's ok to use extra points for a special treat one night.
