Homemade Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats

After traveling for the holidays, your pooch is probably really glad to have you home and back into your normal routine.  I know this mama's furr-kids were.  Remind your furry pals how much you love 'em with these yummy homemade dog treats!  Feeling extra ambitious?  Roll out the dough and use cookie cutters to make fun shaped treats.

Homemade Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats

Ingredients:
- 1 banana, peeled and mashed
- 1 c. whole wheat flour (your pup have a gluten allergy?  substitute oat flour)
- 2/3 c. rolled oats
- 1/4 c. dried parsley (acts as a breath freshner)
- 1/4 c. peanut butter
- 1 egg, beaten

Directions:

1.  Preheat oven to 300 degrees.  Mash banana, in a large bowl, then add flour, oats, parsley, peanut butter, and egg.  Stir well to combine.

2.  Roll dough into balls, about 1 T. each.  Transfer to a large parchment lined baking sheet and use the bottom of a glass to press each ball into a 1 1/2 - 2 inch coin.

3.  Bake until firm and deep golden brown on the bottom, about 40 to 45 minutes.  (I decided to turn the treats after about 30 minutes to get a more even brown.)  For the longest shelf life, store in an airtight container in the fridge or freeze them for later.

  2. Home-made dog treat is good quality alternative, but I always prefer natural dog treats which I usually purchased it online for my boxer dog. These treats are unbelievable for dog, as they are full of in good physical shape ingredients and are often packed full of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. -
