Peanut Post: 11 Month Update!

My little Annalyn, you never cease to amaze me.  With only one month til your first birthday, you are changing and learning so fast!  Every day is an adventure as you become more and more mobile, curious, and brave.  I started writing this post, then for whatever reason decided it was time to update your baby book (I was really good about it for the first 4-5 months, but the last few have been a little neglected).  So now that it's midnight and I'm pretty well caught up on your book (minus the pics), I'm finally finishing my post.  You will never have to doubt where you're obsessive nature comes from - that one's all me, kiddo.

"singing"
such a lady...

It has been a whirlwind of a month for all of us between all the holidays, our car drama, and keeping up with our now-mobile baby.  Daddy and I are in definite need of some baby-proofing and STAT!  We said goodbye (for now) to our favorite wine rack, because it was also your favorite wine rack and you couldn't focus on anything besides getting over to it.  Chasing you around the couches and tables is a full time job and we are constantly surprised at how fast you can run away from us when you manage to grab a remote.

so about those cabinet locks...

yes, you are trying to climb stairs...
you actually got up two
before I stopped you!

Onery as ever and cute to boot!  That's a dangerous combination, Peanut.  Mama's going to have to keep a close eye on you so you don't go breaking hearts someday (especially Daddy's!).  You already know how to play us - when to cry to get a snuggle, or wrinkle your nose to get a laugh.  You are a master of baby manipulation!  But you are always so happy and truly find joy in everything you do.  We are completely smitten, my dear.

is there anything better than spaghetti on bath day?

Now for some updates, baby book style:

-weight:  21 lbs. 12 oz.
-height:  30" (wearing mostly 12 mos and some 18 mos clothing)
-teeth:  2 front bottom ones so far, but more are coming! (you've been waking up to remind us off and on all week)
-sleeping:  9:30pm - 10am, nap 11:30-1:30pm, 3:30-5:30pm, and sometimes a little catnap around 7pm.  Times are not always exact, but that's the general idea.  We are incredibly blessed that you love to sleep, and we know it.  You even fall asleep on your own after a story and/or a song or two.  We can rarely get you to fall asleep with us, even when we try, but you are very snuggly if you do wake up at night.
-eating:  We are down to two 8 oz. bottles a day (morning and bedtime), 3 meals plus a snack or two.  You are pretty much eating table foods at this point so I haven't been making as many purees.  We are weaning you off your bottle (and very easily since you love your cup) and hope to be done with it by your birthday.  You will drink water, juice, milk, or formula from your cup with meals now.

-favorite foods:  Definitely CHEESE and anything involving cheese.  Also spaghetti, a classic baby favorite.  You also love anything mixed with avocado.  I made you a quick puree last night with avocado, chopped chicken, applesauce, and green bean baby food (we found 1 last jar of store-bought baby food from when you first started foods)... sounds awful, but you ate a whole bowlful.
-accomplishments:  Starting to walk on your own, but only for 5-6 steps at a time right now.  You can easily pull yourself up onto furniture, walls, or people so it's getting hard to keep you in one place.  "Mamama" is finally a regular part of your vocabulary, as well as "baby" and "pupupu" (puppy).  You will high 5 on demand and sometimes tell us "what a monkey says" if we ask.

Oh, Miss Annalyn
Your mama sure loves you!!
