Peanut Post: 7 Month Update

Oh my pretty little Peanut.  Not too much has changed in the last month in terms of your favorite things.  You still adore my iPhone, reach for your puppies, and chew on EVERYTHING.  Lately you are especially obsessed with any and all jewelry I'm wearing.  You still love to eat, but have yet to cut a tooth.

A few things are changing though - you are up to 6-9 mo and even some 12 mo clothes, you roll over and sit up like it's nothing (even in the bathtub!), you will take steps when we hold your hands, and you can click your tongue (and think it's hilarious to do so).  You are developing your own little sense of humor and it's adorable - I feel like you actually laugh with us now.

You are eating lots of different foods lately!  Daddy & I have so much fun making new combinations for you to try.  Here's what we currently have to choose from:

Veggies:  peas, carrots, green beans, onions, squash (butternut, zucchini, summer), sweet potatoes
Fruit:  peaches, apples, bananas, avocado, apricots, prunes, pears, mangoes
Meat:  chicken & beef
Dairy:  yogurt, frozen yogurt (you don't even mind that it's cold, you just know it's delicious!)
Spices:  cinnamon, curry, basil, nutmeg (all in small amounts, occasionally)
Grains:  these rice, oatmeal, and multi-grain cereals

Plus, you've really mastered feeding yourself those little puffs - you're getting so fast it's hard to keep up sometimes!

chubby baby hands are a close second
to chubby baby feet in the cuteness department
see what I mean?

Unlike your first couple months on this earth, you are sleeping like a champ (except for the occasional temper tantrum when you don't want to go to bed... you are really advanced in that department.  Grandma says I didn't even get that good until about a year and a half).  Usually a full 9-10 hours a night.  You still like it when Mama sings you to sleep while we snuggle.  Naps, on the other hand, you fight like crazy.  Some days we get two hour-long naps with no problems, while others we have to fight you for 2 hours to get you to sleep for 40 minutes.  We'll call it a work in progress.

we've started letting you sleep with
a toy at your naps now -
you love the instant playmate when you wake up

You have so much to say and we can't wait until there are a few words mixed in there.  We are constantly trying to get you to say "mama" or "dada" or really anything besides "AAAAAAAAAA" or spit bubbles, but that little stubborn streak of yours runs deep.  So we wait and enjoy the screams, squeals, and spit bubbles.

This is a big transition time for you.  There are so many fun and exciting milestones ahead.  Your first steps... first words... crawling (yes, we're convinced this will come after walking - you are much more interested in being on your feet)... first Halloween/ Thanksgiving/ Christmas - I can't even tell you how excited I am for Christmas with you...  (First we'll make snow angels for a two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse cookie dough as fast as we can, and then we'll snuggle!  Oh, Buddy the elf, you get me every time.)  But most of all, I can't wait for every minute I get to spend with you, my Annalyn.  You are such a blessing to Mama & Daddy and we love you soooo much!
