Countdown to Christmas: Turtle Pretzels

Here's a fun and easy holiday treat to add to your arsenal!  Perfect for cookie exchanges or your holiday dessert table.  I made these for my family Christmas and for the Christmas party I hosted for Michael's coworkers - everyone agreed, they are fabulous!  Hope you enjoy this simple and delicious holiday treat.

Turtle Pretzels

Ingredients:
- 2 bags Rolo candies
- 1 bag round pretzels
- 1 large bag pecan halves
(1 Rolo + 1 Pretzel + 1 Pecan Halve = 1 Treat)

Directions:
1.  Preheat oven to 250 degrees and line a cookie sheet with foil.   Place pretzels in rows on the foil-lined cookie sheet. Place 1 Rolo in the center of each pretzel.

2.  Place in oven for 4-5 minutes or until Rolos become soft. Immediately after removing pretzels from oven, place a pecan on each Rolo and very lightly press down to spread the chocolate and caramel inside the pretzel  Let stand or place in refrigerator until chocolate and caramel hardens.

Here's some pics from the rest of the party spread.  Michael requested mostly appetizers, so my "theme" to tie them all together was red & green.

 spinach artichoke dip - green
(slow cooker recipe here - I used low fat alternatives for the cheese,
added paprika & cayenne, and doubled the recipe)

sweet & sour turkey meatballs - red
(recipe here)

sugar cookies - red & green

homemade hot cocoa mix
